Long-time QB subscriber. Ordered this to update my 2013. When I entered my license number, it was declined. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with QB trying to resolve the problem. Spoke to 6 different people. In the end the problem was never resolved. The final suggestion was call a number they gave me which turned out to be a FAX number. Intuit is pushing their on-line service because they obviously make more money that way. They really didn't want me, or anybody, to buy a desktop version in the first place. The fees from Intuit have been slowing going up for various items and their service has hid the skids. I have no idea what I will do from this point. It has all worked pretty well in the past. But, at this point I think they are another big fee / low service company and I wish I had never heard of them.

I have never seen so many incompetent people in the customer service department. I first started using Quickbooks online. let me tell you, customer service and even the managers don't have any clue what's going on. I wanted to import my payroll info from Intuit Payroll to Quickbook online ( same company ) and they were telling me that this is not possible. I found a way to do it myself to do so. It was actually quiet simple but the fact that the manager in customer service didn't know that is ridiculous.
Since they were so terrible, i decided to swith to the desktop version. even with that, i had issues with customer service.
for example, this new 2016 version comes with a free one year subscription of quickbook online. I thought I can use that offer and give quickbook online another shot, I have been talking to their customer service for hours and they have absolutely no clue about the promotion.
I can't believe these guys are still in business. the only reason they are in business is because it's difficult to switch to another product. literally bunch of clowns in the customer service.

Quickbooks support is horrible. The support is outsourced overseas and they have no idea what's going on. They have no knowledge of the product. Also, they will require you to pay to upgrade the software every year or so if you wish to use the payroll service because they are "unable to continue providing payroll support for Quickbooks 201x". Do yourself a favor and go with a more customer friendly service.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with QuickBooks. We continue to support our software for the current version as well as at least the 2 previous versions. Currently we are supporting our payroll services on our QuickBooks 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 software.

A ho-hum release - most significant improvement is an improved bill tracker. Everything else should have been included in a bug fix or a minor release. Honestly, Intuit lists as a new feature an improved way to clear out forms you need to send (you could clear them out individually if you had to) and a new report filter for year to last month (which you could just use a custom date range). Unless you really need the bill tracker, save yourself a few bucks, and stick with the 2015 version. Only true reason to update is Intuit is going to drop your version from support.
I wish that Intuit would sink a few more bucks into development rather than features that probably took a developer less than a week to put together.

Bought QuickBooks Pro 2016 for work. Computer did not have internet access. Called QuickBooks for Validation Code as installation asked. They couldn't help, told me it needed internet access. I had to bring a desk top computer to my house in order to activate the program. If we hadn't been using a previous version for our company books I would have dumped them for symply accounting.

Don't waste your time if you think you are buying the desktop version....I have spent over 3 hours being transferred between incompetent technical support members simply trying to activate the software. They will continue to push you to the online version so they can charge their monthly fee. Quickbooks is beyond incompetent with the poor over-seas technical support. Save yourself the hassle and buy this elsewhere.

Each time I'm forced to upgrade Quickbooks, I get more and more angry with Intuit.
New "features" rarely bring any improvement to the product. Far worse, what used to work in previous versions, for some reason, no longer works.
I upgraded from 2014 to 2016. I spent 5 hours on the phone with technical support trying to get the merchant services activated. It took them a lot of work to figure out why it wasn't working on their end. While their support in this instance was helpful, it was nearly a full day of my time wasted.
More frustrating, invoices are no longer able to be emailed through Exchange. All over their website it says that it works with Exchange, but it doesn't. Their tech support claims it works with Exchange, but when you dig down into it, it only works with POP email and webmail now. Webmail does NOT include Microsoft Exchange webmail. POP does not allow the ability to see which invoices, etc. are actually sent. 4 full days wasted on this.
The deal breaker for me in this product, is that it was released with no ability to sync with online banking. IT WORKED IN PREVIOUS VERSIONS FOR YEARS. I spent no less than a full week troubleshooting this problem. Finally found someone at Intuit's tech support who works in India who was able to tell me the only online banking syncing that works in this version is with Chase, and the rest "haven't been implemented yet"
WHY WOULD THEY RELEASE AN UNFINISHED PRODUCT? I've wasted two full weeks of my time on this.
The 60 day, money back guarantee is a bunch of crap too. You want to go backwards, you have to re-enter all your data - BECAUSE YOU CAN'T.
With no new features, forced upgrades, broken functionality, I would encourage others to NOT upgrade, and move to another product at all costs.
That's what I will be telling all my clients going forward.
